NVQs are practical qualifications which assess and recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding your employees have in a work situation. This NVQ offers your employees the opportunity to demonstrate they have the skills to carry out their role to national standards. Having a recognised qualification will help them in their work, and open doors to future career development. Who is it aimed at? Business Improvement Techniques is designed for employees working in a manufacturing business. This includes - Experienced employees, who wish to have their competency recognised and gain certification
- New employees who have undergone basic training and are in the process of gaining experience
This NVQ can be applied in any working environment, from the shop floor to the office. There are no entry requirements or age restrictions. Top level management, middle management, team leaders and employees will all benefit from the development of a culture of continuous improvement. The NVQ Level 2 demonstrates how eradicating waste, reducing variation and preventing defects through managing quality and process flows can dramatically improve business performance. It allows your employees to demonstrate competence in areas such as statistical analysis, use of Six Sigma methodology and compliance with statutory regulations. How long will it take? Six units must be completed. This can be done over a period of time, which is negotiable with our trainers and assessors. There are no written exams – our assessors will look at the evidence your employees provide to see whether they meet the requirements. Evidence could include statements from managers or records such as plans, charts or reports. What does the course cover? Five mandatory units and one optional unit must be completed. - Carrying out potential Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Carrying out Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
- Carrying out mistake/error proofing (Poka Yoke)
- Creating standard operating procedure
